Our management team.
Chapters of Sweet Adelines International worldwide are run by committee or a management team. By volunteering members can have a say in the running of the group. Our committee is presently working hard to improve the chorus.
Our president, Christine
"Singing in the chorus is a welcome break for me from the everyday stresses of being a mum. It's nice to be only responsible for yourself once in a while, although that's not quite true when you are president..."
Our treasurer, Aileen
"I like to do my bit for the chorus. Being treasurer is a position with clear boundaries, you know the answer, you just have to get the sum right."
Our secretary, Lorraine
"Taking the minutes at the monthly meetings is my main task. It is quite hard to keep up with the discussions and write at the same time."
Our chorus manager, Cate
"Arranging singouts, finalizing the details and organizing the chorus to attend are the main components of my job."
Our costume chair, Betty
"Finding a costume to suit the tastes of the chorus is a tricky job, everyone has an opinion on fashion. Often the finished product is stunning and usually sparkly."
Our music librarian, Marie-Louise
"My job involves keeping track of all the sheet music belonging to the chorus, sometimes a challenging position."
Our publicist and fund raiser, Judy
"Selling a group like this can be a full time job if you let it. We aim to raise more money from performances in the future."
Our historian and newsletter editor, Noel
"Writing the newsletter is something I can fit in between my commitments at home."
Our make-up chair, Mary
"Make-up is an important part of performing, especially under lights. We love to look our best for performances."
